Sardinia

This was a mini break and the beautiful island ticked all the boxes that I was hoping for a wee trip.
Cinque terre was also on my list but in the end, probably due to fare price difference or flight schedule Sardinia won. And boy, am I glad we came here!

We landed in Olbia and decided to stay in this side of the island for two days. The hotel was tucked away and had its own private beach which was great as it was never crowded and they don't charge you for sun beds! (Often a bummer on popular beaches around the Mediterranean, a day at the beach can set you back a hefty €50 or more! )

Our lil cottage at hotel don diego was so cute. It also had a very interesting bathroom.. In a not so creepy way. It reminded me of a conservative version of a room in Pacha Hotel, Ibiza.

Food... Italian local food is the best. Always! I'm sure the fancy restaurants are nice too but if you are in a beautiful island, try to eat like the locals. Olbia has loads of these type. Some of them are pitched high up on the mountain with the most romantic scenic views. Don't be afraid to get lost! I definitely recommend renting a car (if you are a confident driver, there are a lot of bends!).
The best food we had was at this Agro- turismo type restaurant in San Teodoro. There is only one sitting for the whole night and all tables are served altogether. It was pretty special as we didn't have a reservation and we managed to get the last table. It was a nine course meal. It started with salad then the food just keep on coming. All the produce are grown and raised from this particular farm down to the wine. Everything was just delicious. Even the roast pork was the best I've ever tasted in a long time. Trust me, I have tasted a lot! There was a type of sheep's cheese wrapped in filo pastry that just melts in your mouth. These people are really true artisan and take pride on their food.
I love crackling pork! It is definitely one of my guilty pleasures. :-)

The following night, we explored the busier town near Olbia for some culture and gelato!

Day and night outfit :-)

I recycled a lot when I was packing and for the very first time, I brought less clothes than my husband!

We decided to stay at Porto cervo on the remaining two days of our trip. It is a party place but we didn't explore the night life too much. It has the usual highlights, big yachts and nightclubs called the "billionaire club". If that is your thing, you should stay on this side but we are glad we moved around as there are more amazing places to be seen that doesn't cost a fortune. I did like the setting at Phi club though, it is a bit like Blue Marlin - Nikki Beach type. It was quiet when we visited but I can just imagine it being so crazy in August time.

The best part of the trip was renting a boat and exploring the little islands. There  is so much beauty in every corner and so many little amazing coves and beaches that we discovered.
Of course, the best lunch was served on board!

Skorts day!

I am officially a skort owner.

I got mine in Zara but Asos also do lovely ones.

It was a great day for strolling around town in my skorts. I couldn't have picked a better day to wear it.
I added my blue arty ring from YSL to add a pop of colour. I cannot believe they are now discontinued since Slimane took over. The Alexander Wang mini roco bag I got last winter proved to be a basic staple all season.

Hope you're all enjoying the sunshine! X

Casual Friday

Never under estimate the power of a good structured jacket. It can dress up a casual outfit when you are on the go. Every woman should invest one for day and night outfits. Whistles, Reiss, Helmut Lang and Stella Mccartney brands are great for this type of jacket. I had a tee and sweat pants while going for a walk with Robyn and I added this jacket when I met someone for lunch. Chic ballerinas completed my look. I got this Chanel flats last Christmas and due to a very long winter, I've only taken them out of the box. I would not usually buy it for myself as they are quite pricey but I am grateful to know people with impeccable taste. Pretty ballerinas and French sole also do really great ones.

8 years!

Myself and hubby just celebrated our 8th year wedding anniversary last week. The best part of it was being joined by my girlfriends who flew all the way from Ireland. I was so stoked! Being a very gracious host, we started the day shopping in Oxford street, got detoured in bond street and ended up lunching in Jamie's at Covent Garden.
I don't know how we managed it, but after a lot of begging we got our reservation at the Hix in Mayfair moved to a later time. If there's one thing that has not changed in our relationship these past eight years, it's I'm still always late! My hubby didn't mind this time as he knew I had a ball with my girlfriends.
Dinner was delish and and to top it off, we danced the night away at the cuckoo nightclub, where the music definitely perked us all up after a very long but worth lounging dinner at the Hix.

It's more fun in legoland!

It was a scorching May bank holiday and after crackin our heads what to do, we headed to Legoland! The kids couldn't have been more psyched. I enjoyed the journey too, as I was seeing a glimpse of the English countryside. Cute cottages, lakes , Windsor castle and some good 'ol English traditional pubs.
Buckle up! xoxo

Bright green!

I couldn't resist putting on a lil bit brighter today as the sunshine is just glorious.

We were headed to our local park and enjoying the morning sunshine.

Take time to enjoy and take in the beauty around you! xoxo

Cyprus Delights!

We were headed to Cyprus for the kids Easter school break. We stayed around Limassol area. The weather was just perfect as Robyn, my 19th month old baby cannot tolerate too much heat and so is my Asian mom who is scared of getting a tan! (you know what i mean, Asian ladies! ;-)
Here are a few snaps.. xoxo

PS: Cyprus has been all over the news lately, for the wrong reason. Please support them and visit the country if you can. It is beautiful out there and the people are charming. The food is also great!

Eat!

Hi guys, I just turned my nearly out of date veggies to a scrumptious vegetable stir fry for dinner. Here's a good tip for everyone, I'm sure if you are a mom and hates throwing food away you probably know this already! All you need is some basics in the cupboard which are garlic, soy sauce (I'm Asian! ) , olive oil or rape seed oil and a mixture of vegetables. I sautéed the garlic first then added the hardest vegetable for a couple of minutes which happened to be the carrots, butternut squash and sweet potato all diced up before throwing in the softer ones. Season a tablespoon of soy sauce and a pinch of sugar. Next was the aubergine and fennel. I left the asparagus at the very end just when it was simmering so I still have that crunch left in them. I have to say, one of my pet peeves is eating an overcooked asparagus. Also, while waiting for the kids at their gymnastic class I got a tip from the magazine on how to make your kids eat more vegetable at dinner times. This tip is quite obvious but I just never implemented it fully until reading it, which was to serve the vegetable first before the main course. Obvious right!? I love these kind of tips! Happy midweek cooking! Love, Shana xoxo

Girlfriends

Since moving here to London a few months ago, I've been pining for some female company. A visit from an old friend worked wonders. It is so uplifting to see my good friend Izzy and catching up with her. We went to Sushi Samba in Shoreditch area which was packed on a Wednesday night! If you are in town and looking for somewhere to have a casual drink but in a glammed up surroundings and a reasonably priced sushi (we were seated at the bar area and not in the main dining) with an amazing view, then head here. As you can see, I am dressed very casually with my flat shoes but a colored pants lifts an outfit with some added pearly accessories which I got in Primark years ago. xoxox
